Opening Remark by Dr. Kyle Wong, President of Association of Blockchain Development
Dear guests,
I am Kyle Wong, the President of the Association of Blockchain Development, or ABCD. We are the co-organiser of Metaverse Asia Expo 2022 and i want to extend my sincere welcome to all of you for joining us on the first day of the MAE2022. ABCD is a non-profit organization dedicated to the deployment of blockchain technology in various industries including legal, auditing, arts and finance. We are formed in 2018.
Over the last ten years we see the wide adoption of blockchain technology in virtual asserts, DeFi, identity management and NFT. However, most of the applications seem to be on the B2C side. Therefore it is subject to boom and bust cycles as user interests come and go. We believe for the blockchain technology to flourish, enterprise adoption is essential. There must be more B2B applications.
The theme of this Expo is “Metaverse Opportunities and Our Future” In the last few years, we all saw the rise of the Metaverse technology. It started in gaming, like Mindcraft and Roblox, but is now increasingly adopted by enterprises as a business tool. We believe Metaverse is the next iteration of the internet, from 2D to 3D, from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0
We believe Metaverse, combined with Blockchain technology, will have a huge impact on e-commerce, education, conferencing, gaming, industrial design and many other industries. In this Expo you will hear experts from financial firms, cloud providers, hardware and software startups, GameFi companies all telling us how they want to capture the opportunities in Metaverse.
MAE2022 is truly a global event. Today we will run events in Hong Kong and Vietnam. Vietnam has become a hub of Web 3.0 and their startups are flourishing. Tomorrow we will have our Shanghai opening. On day 4 we will talk to startups in Israel and learn how their technology is essential to the development of Metaverse. Our technology partner, Virtway, is based in Spain. So this is truly a global event. It is because Metaverse has no boundary.
We also want to remind you that we are concurrently running the exhibition in the Metaverse halls. We believed we are the first major event running in the Metaverse. We want you to experience Metaverse in the first hand. So go there to see the Exhibitors.
